April 11, 2020 | Domestic Violence Services During the Pandemic

Quarantine and stay home orders may be necessary to flatten the curve of the pandemic, but can also place domestic violence victims at great risk. According to the Mayor and Governor, the NYC and NYS Hotline for domestic violence help and information remains up and running.

Catching Sight of Thelma & Louise - A Documentary

New York City Premiere:
April 5 - April 11 | Cinema Village

The film screens from April 5 - 11th at Cinema Village, at 1:00, 4:00, 7:00, and 9:15.

On the opening day, Friday, April 5th, Q&A will follow the 4:00 and 7:00 screenings. Marita Sturken, one of the interviewees in the documentary, will be present for Q&A after the 7:00pm screening on April 5th. Marita is a Professor at NYU and author of BFI Modern Classics book Thelma & Louise. She did a lot of research about "Thelma & Louise" when she was writing her book for the British Film Institute.

On Saturday, April 6th, a Conversation Event, "MeToo/WhatNext?” will follow the 1:00pm screening. Crime Victims Treatment Center, Safe Horizon, and Day One have partnered with Far Beyond Film to engage the audience in dialogue regarding steps we can all take to make the world safer for girls and women. Stopping violence against women is everybody's responsibility. Proceeds from "MeToo/WhatNext?" will be donated to the organizations taking part in this event.

On Monday, April 8th, Robin DiAngelo will be present at Q&A after the 7:00pm screening. Robin is an interviewee and author of "White Fragility: why it's so hard for White People to talk about racism."
